On Thursday July 30th, EOS Defense Systems USA (EOS) was honored to make a difference in the growing Huntsville community, partnering with SCI Technology Inc. (SCI), the Huntsville Hospital Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) and Trail Life Troop 1613 to assist in equipping Huntsville Hospital Mobile Medical Unit's medical clinic.

EOS donated 50 vinyl covered chairs to outfit the medical wing with seating and SCI donated five fully equipped cubicles to create a triage area.

A Trailman from Trail Life Troop 1613, Hudson O’Neill, spearheaded the project in effort to complete his freedom award. Hudson sought donations for this project from EOS and SCI. Several of the Trail Life Troop Trailmen donated their time and muscles to putting the cubicles together as well as unloading and placing the chairs in the medical wing.

John Simms, Huntsville Hospital’s Project Coordinator for the Mobile Medical Unit and Community Health Initiative was also present for the delivery of the chairs and gave a helping hand.

Corey Buckner, Director of Operational Support for the Downtown Rescue Mission gave EOS an overview “We partner with Huntsville Hospital's MMU twice a month to provide onsite medical care at no cost to those staying at the Mission.  We have been working for a while to obtain donations of the key medical supplies, equipment and furniture to outfit the wing so nurses, nurse practitioners, and doctors can support our clients inside our medical wing rather than onboard the  modified Recreational Vehicle we currently use.  Equipping the medical clinic means that only the pharmacy will be on board the RV, but we're hoping to move it inside as well.”

The goal is to provide a spacious, safe and comfortable environment that supports the health of a part of our population that have significant medical needs.

The Downtown Rescue Mission, an Alabama non-profit organization, is a place of refuge offering different programs for the homeless of our community. Men, women, and children can find a warm meal and a safe place to stay at their campus.

Trail Life Troop 1613 members share a common vision, striving together to “guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure.” Their mission is to “Walk Worthy.” (Colossians 1:10)
