HUNTSVILLE, AL – EOS Defense Systems USA, Inc. (EOS) spent the afternoon of January 18th participating in a community service project in honor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday. The employees of EOS orchestrated a school supplies drive to gather needed classroom items for the students at McDonnell Elementary School (MES), located at 4010 Binderton Pl SW, as well as raised donations totaling $510.00, specifically intended to help teacher’s fund their class projects. Additionally, 22 EOS  employees spent four hours at MES performing campus improvement projects, including mulching the leaves that surrounded the school campus and playground, washing the entrances and windows of the school building, trimming bushes, pressure washing picnic tables, washing gym walls and clearing curbs and gutters.

EOS also donated 500 lollipops and juice boxes for the schools’ Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Celebration.  On January 20th, MES held its annual school spelling bee competition. Jordan Eason-King, an EOS junior mechanical engineer, volunteered to play a special part as one of the event’s moderators.

The EOS Team enjoyed this opportunity to serve the community and looks forward to supporting the school over the next year by providing assistance to faculty, the facility and the educational process.  We believe this is the best way to honor the legacy of Dr. King and contribute to the future of our community.
